Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC) is one of the largest and most dynamic colleges in the UK, delivering high-quality education and training across the Capital Region of Wales. CAVC offers high quality full and part time education and training courses from Level 2 to Level 6 in a range of academic, vocational, technical and professional areas and work in partnership with employers,
responding to their needs and equipping them with the skills needed now and for the jobs of tomorrow.

This strong domestic foundation and college scale has enabled CAVC to invest in and develop a growing global footprint overseas. Our dedicated International Team co-ordinates a diverse and exciting international offer with full backing from the College Executive. CAVC works across the globe but our main export countries are aligned with the three key Global Wales priority countries of India, Vietnam, Canada, as well as continuing our long-standing operations in China.

The Cardiff and Vale College offer includes:

  • Skills training – capacity and capability building via bespoke training programmes co-created with the client, to meet industry and employer needs and fill skills gaps where they exist;
  • Train the trainer programmes – to enhance pedagogy and student outcomes, in areas such as teaching performance, assessment literacy, and best practice in online/digital delivery;
  • Short courses, micro-credentials and immersion programmes for vocational teaching staff to enhance their skills and qualifications;
  • Employability and soft skills preparation – via its Level 3 accredited Career Confident module for international students;
  • Teacher professional development via the British Teaching Diploma, a Level 7 TQUK endorsed certificate for teachers and educators working in overseas settings;
  • Higher education programmes via a range of HNDs, as well as two full degrees – a BSc in Cyber Security (with the University of West London) and a BEng in Aircraft Engineering (with Kingston University);
  • Curriculum development, internationalisation, professional courses and progression routes.

Joint programmes and transnational education partnerships, working with further and higher education institutions overseas.

Consultancy, curriculum development and TVET capacity-building projects, such as the Going Global partnerships funded by the British Council.

Design and delivery of bespoke group programmes, working with a range of partners internationally for delivery in Edinburgh, overseas, online or through a hybrid approach. Particularly in the areas of teacher training, vocational skills development, qualifications and short-courses for further study, career development and upskilling the workforce.

International student recruitment for a wide range of Access and Higher Education level courses across our four faculties, for which Edinburgh College can act as immigration sponsor and issue CAS for suitably qualified international students.

Year-round EFL and ESOL programmes and an English-language Summer School programme, which has been running for more than 35 years. For international students who seek to develop English language skills for further study, career development or as part of an immersive study travel experience.
