WorldSkills UK

WorldSkills UK is a charity which partners with business, education and governments to mainstream excellence in technical education and apprenticeships. We are members of WorldSkills, a global movement of more than 80 member countries, which gives us unique access to international best practice and benchmarking in skills development, which we use to improve quality in skills training and education across the UK.

Our international connections are fundamental to our ability to benchmark the UK skills pipeline against the best of the rest of the world, providing unique insights to help develop skills policy and practice.

Skills Taskforce for Global Britain

Commissioned by WorldSkills UK, and Chaired by former Director General of the CBI, John Cridland CBE, with global consultants EY as a Founding Member, our Skills Taskforce for Global Britain will create a post pandemic plan to deploy world-class skills to attract inward investment to the UK, generating a longer-term vision for productivity and prosperity. Our taskforce, which brings together government, business and the third sector, is right in line with the UK Government’s commitment to use a skills-based economy to drive growth, productivity and ‘levelling up’ in Global Britain.

International Skills Partnerships

Our international skills partnerships with other WorldSkills members not only leverage international policies and best practice in skills development, but open the door to innovative ways for peer-to-peer knowledge exchange that will drive world-class delivery of TVET on a national and international scale.

To date, we have already signed Memorandums of Understanding with Chinese Taipei and HRD Korea, and expect to have a total of 11 agreed partnerships by the end of 2021 with countries including Japan, Russia, India and France.

Through joining forces with WorldSkills members from around the world, we will also be hosting a series of Virtual International Pressure Tests, which will include best practice exchanges and training events in skills.

International Events

Our rolling programme of events, including our series of International Skills Summits, have continued to draw expert international speakers from around the globe, including France, Singapore, Russia and Chinese Taipei, ensuring insights shared with attendees represent cutting-edge global thinking in the sector.
