Summary
Fujitsu is a world leading IT service provider which has a digital solution for both public and provider sector clients. Forward thinking and innovative, Fujitsu partners with organisations who can deliver a high-quality and innovative service, whilst maintaining a practical and solutions focussed approach.
Quantum Rise and Fujitsu have been partners since for over 6 years, with the Quantum Rise delivery team operating as their flexible learning and development resource.
During February 2020, Beth Rowlands, Head of Talent and Learning, was seeking a virtual best practice delivery partner who could operate flexibility and meet some changing needs and came across Quantum Rise.
Four months later, over a thousand managers had attended the live virtual training, delivered by the Quantum Rise delivery team, producing huge advocacy for the new performance management strategy with nearly three quarters of managers saying they prefer the new process and appreciate the new skills they have been given.
All without stepping foot in a training room and obtaining +90% delegate satisfaction with the training and ability to put it into practice.
Why Fujitsu Needed This Programme
Fujitsu, a major global IT services provider, was preparing to roll out a new performance management strategy across the UK and Europe. This shift required a large cultural and behavioural transition among more than 1,000 people managers, a group spread across multiple countries, with varied levels of confidence in virtual learning, and operating within ongoing organisational change.
In early 2020, just as remote work was rapidly accelerating across industries, Fujitsu was looking for a partner capable of:
- Delivering high‑impact virtual learning at scale
- Ensuring managers not only attended training but applied new skills
- Providing flexibility for an unpredictable, fast‑evolving workplace environment
- Supporting a company‑wide transformation programme with consistent, high‑quality facilitation
This is the environment in which Fujitsu turned to Quantum Rise.
Solution
We produced high impact, interactive upskill sessions which were delivered by our engaging and experienced Management and Leadership virtual training specialists, providing clear and actionable learning which could be applied in the workplace immediately. Skills were practiced in session, with each group receiving in the moment, actionable feedback from a training specialist.
Sessions included;
- Having an Open Mindset
- Great Career Conversations
- Giving and Receiving Feedback
- Connects (The new performance management framework
Here is a recording of one of the sessions which supported the roll out and we have the permission to share – Career Conversations: https://youtu.be/rrnZMBZc3_Y?si=Q4gwIyHktsjFy9rO
This was done through our high impact virtual learning methodology which increases knowledge retention by up to 65%, as the learning was developed to consider how the brain learns best online.
Impact
All managers had attended the training and were telling us they now preferred the new way of doing performance management in Fujitsu as they felt confidence and competent to do so. They also shared that the training provided was the main reason for this.
Fujitsu was therefore ready to ‘go live’ with the new performance management framework on time and continues to partner with Quantum Rise for virtual training to this day.
The training programme generated significant, measurable impact for Fujitsu, its managers, and the wider business. More than 1,000 managers successfully completed the virtual learning experience, and the shift in managerial behaviour was evident across the organisation. Managers demonstrated strong adoption of new performance practices, particularly in areas such as growth mindset, career conversations, coaching questions, and objective setting. This behavioural shift directly supported the rollout of Fujitsu’s new performance management strategy and contributed to a higher level of engagement and confidence among managers.
Feedback during subsequent manager webcasts highlighted the programme’s success, with managers actively discussing its value and showing strong advocacy for the new approach. Many managers expressed a preference for the new performance management process and appreciated the skills the training equipped them with. Fujitsu leaders anticipated improvements in engagement survey results, viewing the training as a major driver of improved manager–employee dialogue, stronger performance conversations, and a more unified management culture. Overall, the programme enhanced managerial capability, strengthened strategic alignment, and supported Fujitsu’s wider ambition to remain a forward‑thinking, people‑centred organisation.
For Quantum Rise, the programme reinforced and elevated its position as a trusted, high‑impact learning partner. Fujitsu described the Quantum Rise team as operating like a flexible extension of their own L&D function, praising their virtual facilitation, breakout coaching, and high‑quality session production.
This partnership allowed Quantum Rise to demonstrate its expertise in large‑scale virtual transformation programmes, proving its ability to deliver rapid, high‑quality upskilling to a multinational audience. The relationship deepened over time, with Fujitsu’s L&D leadership highlighting the excellent facilitation quality and the effectiveness of Quantum Rise’s contribution to the overall success of the change programme.
Quantum Rise also benefited from the opportunity to experiment with new learning innovations within a supportive, collaborative environment, something they described as characteristic of an “awesome client.” As a result, the partnership strengthened Quantum Rise’s reputation, validated its approach to virtual learning design and delivery, and created a platform for ongoing collaboration on future management and high‑potential development initiatives.
